Getting to the Isle of Raasay is easier than you might think. On the Isle of Skye, continue your journey to Sconser Ferry Terminal. Here, step aboard the CalMac ferry and enjoy a scenic 25-minute sailing across to Raasay.
Once you reach the Isle of Raasay, the distillery is less than half a mile from the pier and it is well-placed for exploring the island’s breathtaking natural beauty and historic sites, including the iconic Dun Caan mountain, Brochel Castle and enigmatic Calum’s Road.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay. From the moment you arrive it is clear the team here are absolutely passionate and proud of their Distillery it’s fantastic architecture, interiors and of course whisky! We had a tour by Patricia who was fantastic… so friendly and knowledgeable about the distillery, the distilling process and the Isle of Raasay. The rooms are beautifully designed and have a high end feel, our room also had a beautiful view. The residents lounge is a lovely place to relax too. Keep up the good work, I can’t wait to visit again!
Fantastic stay! Couldn’t recommend more!
Beautiful view, stunning and intimate hotel with staff who were attentive!
Wonderful staff in a tranquil setting!
We had a lovely stay at the distillery. Lovely room, complementary whiskey in room which was nice. Good bar. Guest lounge lovely. Restaurant & set meal was outstanding, that is a great chef there, food was exceptional. Breakfasts gorgeous. Staff were great, Kat was lovely & informative. We’re going back someday.
Absolutely spectacular. The distillery tour was good, if you have done one before it will be as expected, a quick in depth look into their production. The tasting was great, the hostess did an amazing job explaining the distillery and its history. I highly recommend renting a room and staying the night. The dinner was exquisite. The chef loves what he does and the venison and lobster were perfection.
The island of Raasay is the real gem here. Unbelievably beautiful. The distillery is grand. The whiskey is one of the very best in the land that makes the finest whiskey in the world. And the views from its front door are to die for.
Everyone we have met was very friendly and passionate about their distillery!
This unique location is romantic and beautiful. From the Distillery Inn at historic Borodale House, the views of the Isle of Skye are constantly changing as clouds shift, concealing and revealing the mountains across the narrow waterway. The small staff is devoted and dedicated to their guests, especially Chloe and Ethan. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious, thanks to Chef Chris. For variety, the Raasay House Restaurant is less than 10 minutes away by foot (look for the native hares on the grounds; we saw 5 one night). The Isle of Raasay distillery tour includes tastings of the exceptional whiskey and excellent gin. Jo was a perfect guide for novices and experienced drinkers alike. Our 4-day stay was perfect! Highly recommended.
Staying at the Isle of Raasay Distillery was pure bliss! If you love peace and quiet, friendly people and beautiful surroundings, this is the place for you!

The Isle of Raasay, an island rooted in centuries of illicit distilling, provides the ingredients for the perfect dram. Our lightly peated Isle of Raasay Single Malt is an expression of this magical place.
Our zesty, smooth and refreshing Isle of Raasay Gin combines an exciting selection of ten Raasay and traditional botanicals, including Raasay juniper, sweet orange peel, rhubarb root and our double distilled spirit.
