Blending Raasay Whisky and Tunes for Celtic Connections – 26th January 2019

Previewing the First Raasay Single Malt at Celtic Connections

Now we’ve ticked over into 2019 we’re already off and running with our programme of events, appearances and offers to promote the countdown to the very first Isle of Raasay single malt in 2020.

If you’ve been to any of our Raasay Tunes events at the distillery you’ll know how much we love our music on the island. So, no surprise that our passion for music and whisky takes us to the heart of the world’s biggest winter music festival of its kind: Celtic Connections in Glasgow on Saturday 26th January. The Raasay team will be heading down to join our Brand Ambassador Chris Hoban for the National Whisky Festival at the iconic SWG3 venue in Glasgow’s Kelvinhaugh. Come visit us at stand 25 in the Galvanizers Hall, sample our whisky and hear about two fantastic masterclasses we’re running on the day with Chris Hoban and our Head Distiller Iain Robertson.

Previewing the First Raasay Single Malt

Previewing the First Raasay Single Malt with Iain RobertsonIn the early afternoon session our Head Distiller Iain Robertson will be taking a masterclass describing our journey towards the first Isle of Raasay single malt. Featuring new-make spirit and cask samples, Iain will offer tastings of no less than five different drams from specially selected rye, virgin oak and Bordeaux casks, as well as our Raasay While We Wait single malt.

He’ll talk through the blending, balance and finish that will characterise the Isle of Raasay Distillery’s first whisky bottling in 2020.

Tweeddale Whisky Blending Masterclass
