I must admit, I am a big fan of Germany. A place with beautiful landscape, plenty of castles (being from Edinburgh, I love a castle), great beer, great people and the food really agrees with me. Lots of different types of meat and potatoes remind me of home.
Raasay Whisky Stockists in Germany
On this trip, I am visiting a few great places that stock Raasay While We Wait in Cologne. What I hadn’t bargained on was that this is Carnival time in Cologne. Carnival is a week-long celebration before Lent, where there are several ceremonies, lots of fancy dress (the Mario Bros, three bears, five musketeers, a penguin, the Ghostbusters, and more), and lots of beer drinking. All before I even had a dram! On that note, on to the places to get Raasay While We Wait.
Scotia Spirits
I first met Peter who runs the brilliant Scotia Spirits at Gleneagles at a trade event, and he has been a big supporter of our Raasay While We Wait in his brilliant shop and tasting room in Cologne. I would thoroughly recommend it as a place to not only buy our product, but other rare and limited-edition whiskies, and a place to attend one of Peter’s whisky tastings (five in one day for me, and they are all good fun). Peter and Craig (who also works in the shop) are great guys and seriously knowledgeable.

Seiberts Bar
An opulent bar that has the feel of a private members lounge, Sieberts crafts fantastic cocktails as you take in the red leather, dark wood and plush surroundings. One of those places where the lighting and atmosphere are relaxing, in a sort of dimly lit, cool kind of way. Here you can find a rich and smoky Raasay While We Wait Old Fashioned, made with a Red Wine Bitters.

Shepheard Bar
If Seiberts is styled like the opulent private members club, my first impressions of Shepheard bar are more like a cocktail lounge with more of a subtle luxury. More like a more minimalist, cool apartment.
On the website it says it was designed with hints of the Shepheard’s Hotel Cairo, so there you go. Here, for our final drinks before we hit the road, are a selection of Raasay cocktails, including Manhattan, Old Fashioned and their own creations, rounding off a great night.
