Last week we had the time of our lives during New York Tartan Week 2025, as Raasay took on NYC with our good friends at Café Cùil!
From our distillery team we had our Head of Marketing, Alli, flying the Raasay flag in the Big Apple to promote all things Raasay alongside the incredible Clare from Café Cùil, Visit Scotland, and our USA partners at ImpEx. It was great to connect with Raasay fans and meet new ones along the way; between a Visit Scotland-branded snack shack, a Hebridean takeover at Albert’s Bar in Midtown Manhattan, and the Tartan Week Parade, it was an unforgettable week!
Serving up the very best of Scottish ingredients and recipes, Clare cooked up a storm and fed over 700 New Yorkers from the snack shack! On the Friday at Albert’s Bar, guests enjoyed a feast of Scottish small plates including lobster rolls with Isle of Raasay whisky butter, veggie haggis quesadillas, and cranachan with the Shortbread Society. All washed down with Raasay cocktails including our famous Draamhattan – New York City was thoroughly fed and watered, and we enjoyed every moment.

Want to make your very own Draamhattan at home? Here’s the recipe for this thirst-quenching classic:

Recipe:
75ml The Draam,
15ml Sweet vermouth of your choice
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: Maraschino cherry
Glass: Coupe
Method: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled. Single strain into your coupe glass, before putting 1-2 maraschino cherries onto a cocktail stick, and place on your glass. Serve and enjoy!
Thank you NYC for an incredible week, we’re already counting down the days until the next one…

“It was a true privilege to attend the pop-up event at Albert’s Bar in New York City. Witnessing and savouring the incredible dishes crafted by Clare and John of Café Cùil alongside the fantastic Raasay-inspired cocktails, was a standout moment of my time in New York.
