The Chinkapin
Peated and unpeated spirit matured separately in a selection of fresh refill Chinkapin oak casks, vatted together to create our signature lightly peated style of single malt.
Chinkapin oak is a rare type of virgin oak, not vastly used in the industry and it brings incredible flavour to our whisky.
Did you know?
Chinkapin oak is a North American white oak that brings rich flavours and a depth to our Raasay whisky that the much more common industry standard Quercus alba doesn’t bring.
It features in the unique six cask recipe of The Draam and has been part of our whisky making story since day one. It’s distinctively Raasay!
