Can’t say enough about Raasay distillery. Never mind the beautiful whisky they will be producing – the development of a community led business will transform the island. The renovation of the original building has been thoughtful and sympathetic, the Gathering Room with its wooden table and geological wall is as stunning as the view, and our guide (author and broadcaster Iain Hector Ross) delivers a tour which is so much more than just a technical “how to distill” speech. Three separate tastings left us with a glow and a determination to return as often as possible.
