I came, saw and was conquered by the magical Isle of Raasay. Barbara was perfect host and both her and Calum gave me a potted history of the island .fascinating! The coffee and tea on arrival and the welcoming vibe is paramount and the welcome leaves a wonderful afterglow that will linger always.
The island has a magic that I could tap into and the hotel is an organic part of the land. For eg the stunning drawing room table made from indigenous elm bedecked with local tartan. Got as far as Calum’s Road and met a Mackenzie ( at ferry next day ) who remembers the older man hammering out that amazing achievement of road construction.
