Launching Raasay’s Inaugural Release & Small Casks at National Whisky Festival

Raasay came to Glasgow when we set up home in Kelvinhaugh for the National Whisky Whisky Festival. We set up stall within sight of the fantastic new Clydeside Distillery as part of the Celtic Connections music and culture festival to showcase our whiskies and our island. Over 1,200 visitors passed our way and two groups of 20 were treated to our sell-out masterclasses presented by head Distiller Iain Robertson and Brand Ambassador Chris Hoban.

Raasay Distillery’s Inaugural Single Malt

The big news at the festival was the launch of pre-order sales of our inaugural small batch Isle of Raasay Single Malt. Who would have thought that we’d sell the first bottle of Isle of Raasay whisky in the former galvanising works shed SWG3 on the banks of the Clyde? There was great interest on the day and we took sales pre-orders into double figures for the long-awaited release in October next year.

Launching Raasay Distillery’s Small Whisky Casks

Also on offer for the first time was the chance to own your own 30 litre whisky cask of our limited edition for just £999. There was great interest in the hall with many enquiries to follow up and a number casks sold on the day.

Being Celtic Connections there was a rolling programme of live music to keep us entertained throughout the event. Where better to showcase our Raasay Tunes music in the distillery programme for 2019. Keep an eye on our events blog for upcoming Raasay Tunes events in the coming year.
