    Our Whisky Hotel Reviews

    • Very much enjoyed my stay. My room with THE view was lovely, all staff members made me feel welcome. The breakfast was also delicious with a wide range of wonderful options. Ellen gave me a very informative tour – The Warehouse was a highlight! Would right away book again at this wonderful place again – if I only had holidays left! Thank you very much for the wonderful experience.

If you have time, which you should on Raasay! – do all walks, visit the community garden, rent a bike an explore! 🤩🤩🤩

    • This hotel is an absolute gem. Lovely welcome with welcome drink. Personally shown around and up to our room. The lounge and honesty bar are a lovely touch. The renovation on this building is truly stunning. The stone walls, wood cladding, use of glass to get the most of the view are all perfect. Our bedroom was lovely. So tastefully decorated and very homely. The tour was great and very interesting. Breakfast was lovely and some interesting options. All in all a fabulous stay.

    • Blown away by the raasay distillery hotel. Unbelievably beautiful views of skye’s mountains. Staff extremely attentive with a warm welcoming ambience(and welcome drink). Relaxed into our stay at bar and in private guest honesty lounge. Rooms spacious luxury and rooms 1 n 2 have brilliant views. Really entertaining interesting distillery tour and the drams to die for. Food both here and at raasay house hotel excellent. Island a gem for exploring- brochel castle, calum’s road, coastal walks and dun caan. Highly recommended will be back

    • What an incredible place. We had a fabulous stay. The rooms are lovely with thoughtful additional welcoming touches. We had breakfast and taster evening menu, food was amazing. I really have to praise the staff working at the hotel, they were exceptional – friendly, helpful and obviously proud to be working at the distillery – particularly would like to mention Craig and Ethan (hope I have names correct) who were serving behind the bar, and the receptionist who greeted us on arrival and gave some great tips on local walks.

    • This is without doubt a jewel in the Scottish malt whisky crown; it may be a small jewel but burns as bright as any other. I visited with family to collect a small cask which had been bottled and uniquely labelled but was first time I had stayed at the distillery. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated like royalty; as all visitors are. The changes to the distillery are fantastic and the tour as good as always with the wonderful Gabriel explaining everything in a knowledgeable and entertaining way. As distillery of the year no need to ramble on about the quality produce but each new edition brings a pleasant surprise. Accommodation was beautiful and the shortbread and complimentary whisky were all well received. The staff are so knowledgeable about the product and island and their enthusiasm adds to the experience. Dinner was off the scale and we all thoroughly enjoyed including my dad who is a fussy (less refined) diner but chef managed to produce an ‘off menu’ dish that he loved. I have dined in many restaurants and this was up there; fresh local food cooked to perfection.
Was a trip that will live long in our hearts and can’t wait to return.

    • We had an amazing weekend here with a group of friends. The distillery tour was great, and went through the whole process of how the whisky is made.
All the staff in the hotel were really friendly, and made us feel so welcome, Our room was spotless, and had everything we needed (including a wee dram). There’s a bar at the front of the hotel, and also a lounge exclusively for residents, both with a good selection of local beers and spirits.

It’s difficult to describe just how special the island is. It’s much smaller and quieter than Skye, you feel like you’re going on an adventure as soon as you get on the ferry. Everywhere you look is simply a great view, especially if you climb Dun Cana (the highest point on the island). I found myself just constantly taking photos.
It’s a great place to get a real taste of Scotland.

    • Actually I am hesitant to write about this place as I find it such a hidden gem and a best kept secret that I may regret sharing it now. Please don’t look anywhere else on the Isle of Skye for accommodation but come here. You get unbelievable cosy and lovely interior designed rooms that include whiskey tasting, welcome drink, distillery tour and breakfast. On top you have an awesome restaurant and a lovely bar with beautiful sea view at the a great value for money. All Employees are rather young and so enthusiastic and authentic with their jobs and the distillery that is admirable and deserves every support the can get and trust me, they do an outstanding job. It was the best stay of our tour and we enjoyed every second we spent there

    • I stayed here for 2 nights and loved every second! The distillery staff were all very kind and helpful, the food and spirits were fabulous, and both the location and the interior design were absolutely gorgeous. I took the distillery tour with whisky, gin, and chocolate tasting, and Jo was AMAZING — so knowledgeable and friendly! I booked this stay in the middle of my trip around Scotland because it looked like a peaceful, beautiful respite, and I was right. I highly recommend the Isle of Raasay Distillery to anyone who finds themselves in the area!

On the Isle of Skye, continue your journey to Sconser Ferry Terminal. Here, step aboard the CalMac ferry and enjoy a scenic 25-minute sailing across to Raasay.

Once you reach the Isle of Raasay, the distillery is less than half a mile from the pier and it is well-placed for exploring the island’s breathtaking natural beauty and historic sites, including the iconic Dun Caan mountain, Brochel Castle and enigmatic Calum’s Road.
