A Winning Year!

We’ve been absolutely delighted with our work this year as we approach the end of our first full year of having whisky here at the Isle of Raasay Distillery. The year’s end also brings with it the awards season and this year we’ve had our fingers crossed in a number of different categories.

Scottish Whisky Awards – Newcomer of the year 2021

First up was the Scottish Whisky Awards 2021, which is now in its third year. We were delighted to have won Tourism Destination of The Year at the inaugural 2019 awards, as well as Brand Experience of the Year in 2020. With so many incredible new distilleries and releases around Scotland in the past few years competition has been tough, so we were absolutely honoured to take home Newcomer of the Year at the 2021 Scottish Whisky Awards.

It’s now been four years since our journey officially began and we are extremely proud of our passionate team. To have been recognised and to win such a prestigious award amongst such prestigious competition, is a testament to the incredible work our team has put in over all these years.

World Whisky Awards 2022 – Category Winner – Small Batch Single Malt (No Age Statement)

2021 marked our first full year with whisky, a massive milestone in our story here on the Isle of Raasay where we have been distilling and filling casks since September 2017. Our signature Isle of Raasay Single Malt officially launched in June at our virtual whisky launch hosted here on the island and has now been shipped to dozens of countries and thousands of bars, whisky shops and homes around the world. This is why we were especially delighted to win the Small Batch Single Malt (No Age Statement) at this year’s World Whisky Awards.

Luxury Packaging Awards – Luxury Drinks Packaging

We’ve always been incredibly proud of our striking decanter-like whisky bottle, which captures the island’s rugged natural beauty in all its glory. With Raasay’s fossils and rocks moulded into the glass, holding it is like holding a piece of Raasay in your hands, no matter where you are in the world.

After a great reception to its launch this year, we were blown away by our win in the Luxury Drinks category of the Luxury Packaging awards.
